There was a problem with the voting section and I had to clear all the votes that were posted so please have another go. Graham’s brother was out in May and sent me this report on the courses they played, which may help. You can also go to the course’s own website, to refresh your memory, by using the links a little further down the page again on the left.

Just back from Florida Andrew and thought you may like some feedback on the courses we played.

Waterlefe and Riverwood are must plays, both outstanding and less than £35 for 12.30 tee off times.

In the second group I would include University, Bobcat, Legacy, Sarasota National, Heritage Oaks and Kingsway (amazing greens and great value, £22 including lunch).

We also played Stoneybrook (now public and looking scruffy) Tatum Ridge (OK but better courses around) and Rosedale ( The novelty value has now worn off ).

We were unable to fit in games at River Strand and Herons Creek this year but both are courses I rate.

We made the error of playing Riverwood, Waterlefe and Rosedale on consecutive days and ended up shellshocked! Better to split them with a Legacy or Sarasota National. ( more forgiving fairways!)

Regards Craig.

Lennar Homes LLC has sold the golf course at Stoneybrook at Heritage in Bradenton to Stoneybrook Investors, LLC for $3.475 million.
The sale includes the 18-hole golf course designed by Arthur Hills, a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, pro shop, a full-service restaurant, cart barn and maintenance building.

This sale went through in October 2010 and thought it would give you an idea of market prices in case anyone was looking to buy!

Golf Magazine has published its 2010 list of the 100 Top Public Courses in the USA and in 18th place is Pine Barrens at World Woods. If you check the list by state it is No.2 in Florida, behind TPC Sawgrass. To view the Top 100 click here.
